(F 340) Regarding sacrifices, does one-seventh of a cow suffice for a man and his household just as a sheep or goat does, or is there a difference between the two cases? Considering that one-seventh of a cow provides more meat than a single sheep.

One-seventh of a cow or camel is equivalent to a sheep for the person offering the sacrifice, regardless of whether its meat is more or less, as indicated by the textual evidence. Thus, it holds the same ruling as a sheep in terms of being sufficient for an accountable individual, and it also shares the same scholarly disagreement on whether it constitutes participation in the sacrifice as an obligatory ritual or a as shared reward.
